Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Cookware : Pros and Cons

We  purchased Rachael Ray cookware set 10-piece in fun orange and black color about 1.5 years ago and we simply love it even now and use it daily. It has most commonly used cookware pieces which are great for sauteing, boiling, steaming, simmering, and frying and also for oven baking as well.

First let us look at what is included in this set:

  • 1-1/2-quart covered saucepan
  • 3-quart covered saucepan
  • 6-quart covered stock pot
  • 8-inch skillet
  • 10-inch skillet
  • 3-quart/10-inch covered saute pan.

The whole package weighs about 19 pounds and comes with limited warranty.

Good things we liked about this set:

  1. 10 most commonly used cookware pieces, you have everything from 2 sizes of sauce pan, 2 sizes of skillet, large enough stock pit and covered saute’ pan. Having covered pan always saves cooking time and electricity so it was a big plus for me.
  2. Hard Anodized or non stick surface, so one can cook without heavy use of butter or other fat. Food such as eggs and crepe does not stick to the bottom. Many non-stick coating comes off after use, but anodized material does not come off or have chemical peeling, another plus for me.
  3. All pieces of oven safe up to 400 Degree Oven. This mean we can start a dish on stove top and finish it off in oven. This is great for making any dish that requires both stove top and over baking without having to change the cooking pan.
  4. Orange fun color handle which are easy to grip and hold. during cooking process. In addition, an orange color adds more color to my otherwise black and steel cookware pieces.
